In technology and innovation today, there are many ways to learn new skills and keep up to speed with new happenings and new technology! You can get books, attend classes, attend seminars (virtually or in person), or you can scour the Internet looking for all the knowledge you need. All of these things are great tools that can help you move forward in your career. The online resources available today are amazing, and can be useful, especially if your boss or organization does not see the value of conference attendance. Let’s face it, getting the boss to pay for a trip to Vegas for VMWorld is not always easy… first it’s not local and costs a fair amount of money and second it’s in Vegas.
The CollaborateIT Conference is much like a big industry event, and brings all the networking, educational sessions and discussion about hot innovation and technology topics right to your neighborhood. And it’s a fraction of the cost of VMWorld and other vendor shows at $69. If you need help convincing your boss that this event is a benefit to your company, copy and paste the template below into an email, changing the parts of [Your Boss] and [Yourself] as warranted. We can’t bring the Vegas part to you, but we can help you get all the technology knowledge, best practices, and trends that you can handle right here in the Fox Valley.
What are you waiting for? Copy and paste the template today.

Subject 2017 CollaborateIT Attendance
As you know, I am committed to the success of our organization and want to do all that I can to help us succeed. In addition to supporting the technology and innovation initiatives of our company, I also work to find cost effective ways to keep my skills sharp.
Each November, Amplify Oshkosh and countless sponsors put together an annual half-day conference to bring technology, collaboration and I.T. industries to our back yard. The CollaborateIT Conference will be held on Tuesday, November 14th beginning with registration at 7:00am. There will be topics covering following areas:
Because several of these technologies fall within the current list of duties I am performing, the conference entry fee of $69.00 seems a reasonable expense for a half day of learning across many technical areas.
In addition, there will also be many CEO and CIO’s in attendance which will bring an executive point of view for questions and answers. I believe this will provide a higher level understanding of technology from area executives.
The opportunity to attend training without the need to travel to a faraway destination, like Silicon Valley or Austin Texas, is a great benefit. Being able to hear from Subject Matter Experts like John McElligott, and I.T Industry leaders is a great opportunity for our organization.
I appreciate your consideration in sending me to the CollaborateIT Conference in 2017. If you have any further questions regarding the event, I would be happy to answer them and provide any further information needed. Thank you!
